The nose is quite shy but eventually reveals whiffs of scorched soil, leather and a balsamic note. The lean straightforward palate offers dried wild cherry and a hint of dark spice alongside grainy, rather fleeting tannins that leave an astringent finish.

This is a ripe and plump Brunello Riserva with distant notes of band aid or wet fur that don't distract too much from the overall picture. You'll also get aromas of wet earth, wild mushroom and pressed flowers and the wine's intensity and general consistency is very nice.
