  Packed with ripe black- and red-fruit flavors, this wine is dense and concentrated. The rich, generous fruit comes with a complex minerally edge, and it shows the wood influence in the form of a spice note. Age this at least six years.

  A solid, dense wine, its rich tannins dominating dark black fruits. The wine is ponderous, brooding, with shafts of acidity giving it a lift. But it does need a couple of years to soften that core of serious tannins.
